Left-handed people, or lefties, as they’re normally called, have it rough. We don’t realize it, but a lot of everyday things pose many challenges for those who aren’t right-handed. Righties are lucky that most things are designed to specifically suit their needs. Back in the day, you were even considered evil if your dominant hand was the left one. Seriously! You were considered a disgrace and were looked down upon. For this reason many schools imposed a rule that you had to write with your right hand, even tying up the left arm of the student so that they would be forced into it. This went on for years and is even still an issue that professors attempt to correct in their younger students. They don’t want them getting use to writing with their left hand. There’s also the common rumor that lefties die younger than righties, probably due to the stress that comes with being left-handed. All of the things a lefty has to face in a day shorten their rough lives.
But don’t beat yourself up if you’re a lefty, you’re definitely not alone. There are even many celebrities that are left-handed, and proud of it. Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Mark Wahlberg, and Hugh Jackman. To name a few. If these talented individuals can make it big while also dealing with the everyday frustrations of a left-handed individual, than you can do anything. And it’s nice to know you have something in common with some big Hollywood names.
Left-handed people are also believed to be more creative and it’s also thought that lefties are naturally better at sports. But they could also have started those rumors themselves to feel better about being different. There are many things that only left-handed people understand, and the challenges they have to face on a daily-basis are crazy to think about. Things that right-handed people take for granted are serious struggles for the average lefty. Who knew that scissors could be so stressful? Not to mention the fact that when any right-handed person that notices that you’re left-handed they will approach you and ask “Are you left-handed?” and proceed to tell you about someone else they know that is also left-handed. It happens so often, it’s a very bad habit righties have, they just want you to not feel so bad about yourself, even though they’re secretly happy they don’t need to go through the same trials and tribulations that you do as a left-handed person. In the situations shown in this video, these lefties definitely need a hand. You have to feel bad for these freaks of nature. Here are things that only left-handed people understand. Right-handed people just don’t get it.
